Privacy Policy

This is a small, personal website. I (Kristie Dickinson) want to be straightforward about the limited information I collect when you visit www.kristiedickinson.com or sign up for my newsletter. If anything here is unclear, you can always email me at hello@kristiedickinson.com.

If I ever change this Policy, I'll update the date above. Checking back here is the best way to see the latest version.

What I Collect

Only two things:

• What you give me on purpose. If you sign up for my newsletter, I collect your first name, your email address, and your last name if you choose to add it. That's it.
• Basic technical data. Like nearly every website, my host automatically logs standard information when your browser loads a page — things like your IP address, browser type, and the pages you viewed. This is used to keep the site running and secure, not to build a profile of you.

I do not run advertising trackers, behavioral-targeting cookies, or third-party analytics that follow you around the web. I do not sell your data — not now, not ever.

Why I Collect It

• To send you my newsletter and the occasional update, if you asked for them.
• To reply when you email me.
• To keep the website working and protect it from spam and abuse.

The Tools I Use

I rely on a few trusted services to run this site. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data:

• Flodesk — manages my newsletter sign-up and email list. When you submit the sign-up form, your name and email are stored with Flodesk.
• Cloudflare — hosts the website and handles the basic server logs described above.
• Substack — where my writing lives. When you click a link to read a post, you leave my site and Substack's privacy policy applies.

Cookies

This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. My host may use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep the site secure and functioning. You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.

How Long I Keep It

I keep your newsletter information for as long as you're subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, and you can ask me to delete your information entirely by emailing hello@kristiedickinson.com.

Keeping It Safe

I take reasonable steps to protect the information I hold, and the services I use (Flodesk, Cloudflare) maintain their own security measures. That said, no method of transmission or storage online is ever 100% secure.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information I hold about you, or to withdraw your consent. To do any of these, just email me at hello@kristiedickinson.com and I'll take care of it.

If You're Outside the U.S.

I'm based in the United States, and the services I use store data here. If you visit from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.

This site links out to other places (like Substack and my podcast). I'm not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, so it's worth reading their policies too.
